Criteria

The Trust is open to acquiring historic properties of all types and there are a number of criteria to be considered:

  1. Does the property have significant heritage merit e.g. social, architectural, historic, designed landscape or horticulture?
  2. Is the property at risk? If the Trust does not become involved what is likely to happen?
  3. Is the owner willing and able to consider a donation arrangement with the Trust?
  4. Does the site present opportunities for the Trust to open it up for public appreciation and enjoyment? Does it appear to have the potential to be viable?
  5. Is the project likely to be achievable in both in terms of cost and organisational capacity?
  6. Will the property be able to adapt and regenerate to meet the continuing needs of the heritage and its local population? Are the operating costs viable?
