Restoration of the Head Gardener’s House

The Head Gardener’s House at Fota is a significant part of the history of the property and lies within Fota’s walled gardens. This includes the orchard and glasshouses, a large portion has been successfully restored in recent years.

The Head Gardener’s House had been lying derelict for a number of years. In 2017 we began to restore it thanks to generous support from the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.  Work is well underway with a new roof now in place. With further financial assistance, we are excited about the potential to begin using this wonderful space for events, training, exhibitions and other activities and generate income for the property.
