Discover one of the most complete collections of farming and rural life in the country in the Irish Agricultural Museum, Johnstown.  The collection covers a broad range of items relating to farming, rural crafts, industries and country life.

The Museum, which is situated alongside the Castle, is appropriately housed in the original farm buildings.  It houses a very large collection of lovingly restored farm machinery such as tractors, carts, threshing machines and dairy equipment and the most recent acquisition, a 1915 Aveling and Porter steam roller.

Visit the workshop displays for a completely different visit; these tiny rooms give a real insight into traditional trades such as cooper and wheelwright, plus a large display of Irish country furniture give a real insight into rural life.
